Clear Your Record and Protect Your Future
A criminal record can follow you for life—affecting your ability to get a job, rent an apartment, apply for loans, or even secure immigration benefits. But if you’ve been arrested or charged with a crime in Texas, you may be eligible for expunction or an order of nondisclosure.
At Daniel Albert Law Firm, we help clients across Houston and the surrounding areas seal or erase criminal records, giving them a fresh start and peace of mind. Whether you’re a first-time offender or someone who’s turned their life around, we’re here to guide you through the process.
What Is Expunction?
Expunction (also called expungement) completely erases an arrest, charge, or certain convictions from your record—as if it never happened. You may qualify for expunction if:
- Your case was dismissed
- You were found not guilty
- You were arrested but never charged
- You completed a pretrial diversion program
- Certain juvenile offenses may also be expunged
Once your record is expunged, you can legally deny the arrest or charge on job or housing applications.
What Is Nondisclosure?
If you’re not eligible for expunction, an order of nondisclosure can still help. This process seals your criminal record from public view, so employers, landlords, and most background checks won’t see it.
You may qualify for nondisclosure if:
- You successfully completed deferred adjudication
- You have no new offenses
- Your offense qualifies under Texas law
Nondisclosure does not erase your record, but it limits who can access it.
