NYPD: Off-duty traffic agent charged with DWI – SILive.com

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — An off-duty police officer was allegedly driving drunk when he was pulled over early Saturday morning in the confines of the 121st Precinct, according to the NYPD.
NYPD Traffic Enforcement agent Joseph G. San Filippo, 39, was pulled over on South Avenue near the West Shore Expressway when NYPD officers observed him speeding, a spokesman with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner told the Advance/SILive.com.
When pulled over at 3:17 a.m., officers smelled alcohol on his breath. The spokesman said he refused to take a breath test.
San Filippo, who was off-duty at the time of his arrest, has been charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breath test, according to the spokesman.
